A fun beach getaway, styled on a tropical treehouse and just across the road from beautiful Waihi Beach, voted by Lonely Planet as one of the top ten beaches in New Zealand. Walk up the stairs to find this cute cabin enclosed by wraparound decks, lounge on the beanbags, enjoy the sound of the waves while having a bbq or wine, cuddle up on the windowseat to read that book you've been meaning to get to. Sleeps 7 over 2 bedrooms and sofa bed with full kitchen, bathroom, living and laundry.
Set back in its own garden area this tropical treehouse is fun and playful. There's plenty of parking for cars underneath the house and even a caravan plug if you want to bring a caravan for extra guests. You enter the treehouse via some wooden steps and reach the wraparound deck area featuring outdoor relaxing space and bbq area. The deck area can be enclosed with pull down plastic covers that enable enjoyment of the deck even during rainy days. Inside the treehouse has an open plan kitchen a living area with comfy couches, a TV, and cute window seat looking onto the trees. One of the couches is a sofa bed as well. There are two bedrooms and a bathroom also coming off the living area. One Queen bedroom opening onto the deck with snatches of sea views and one double bunk room that sleeps 3, perfect for a second couple or the kids.
Relax on the deck enjoying a glass of wine, enjoy the birds in the trees and the elevated views with glimpses of the sea just across the road. Cook on that BBQ and enjoy outdoor dining on the deck. After a short walk to beach nearby have a swim followed by an ice cream from the famous yellow dairy just a couple of minutes stroll from the house, wash off in the outdoor shower area then sunbath on the lawn or deck. Wake up late to the sounds of the waves crashing on the beach and wander down to the surf shack cafe nearby for brunch, coffee or one of their award winning burgers with a craft beer. It really doesn't get any easier on holiday!
If you bring your boat there is a coin operated ramp 5 minutes away at Bowentown next to the boat club or launch off the Beach at Anzac Bay. This area is amazing as it has the waves and surf on the main Waihi beach but it also has the protected tidal harbour for fishing, water skiing, kayaking and wind surfing or venture out across the bar for excellent fishing and diving out at sea. Enjoying a round of golf is possible in Waihi and Katikati. There's a huge range of great cafes and shops in the area, the best are mentioned in our local guidebook or feel free to ask your host if you have any specific questions.
